The aerial images show the old structure in darker colour. The existing apartment blocks were to be maintained and not demolished. The solution follows the current road network, creating new quarters and micro-climates.

The higher masses protect the inner courtyards from northerly wind. They also provide views to the centre of the town.

The emphasis of the solution was to provide a realistic, workable option and refrain from utopistic, violent schemes that would completely change the urban structure.
